New song from Lene's hand available
(Notice by Tef Johs, March 9, 2010)
The release of Aleksander With's new album brings with it another beautiful Lene Marlin tune.
Yesterday, With's new album, "Still Awake", was released, featuring the second song written by Lene to be included on this record, entitled "It's About Time".
Today, Lene even updated her MySpace blog to inform everybody, as it wasn't clear in advance which of the other songs on the album was written by her. The song turns out to be quite the beautiful tune.

Trey's Review: Don't Make Her Do Upbeat Pop |
|
|

Even though I recently wrote quite the critical rant about Lene's lack of commitment to "Twist The Truth", that does not in any way diminish my love and admiration for Lene's latest work, as we are soon writing March 2010.

Mellow and emotive
(Published by Trey Spencer at sputnikmusic.com, April 2, 2009)
Summary: Mellow and emotive, this is the kind of pop Lene Marlin excels at.
I have gone through six introductions and they have all degraded into bouts of unrestrained admiration for Lene Marlin’s music. Her approach to mellow acoustic pop comes across in such an elegant manner and in such a unique way that it’s hard to sound objective. Lene Marlin is able to take the appealing, easily consumable nature of pop and merge it with emotionally-charged vocals and subtle, yet effective, music.

According to the previews, there are two tracks on Aleksander With's upcoming album "Still Awake", due out on March 15, being written by Lene Marlin. We know one of the songs to be "Worth It". While we wait for the second track, here is Adresseavisen's interview with the couple back in October 2009.

The success story continues
(Published by Adressa, October 20, 2009)
- It sure is great fun. We couldn't get a better start, the duo is twittering smirkingly from their table at the Oslo-pub "Den Gamle Major".
Because "better start" does not just mean chart position, "Worth It" is in addition the first song they have written together. And, for that matter, written in their very first meeting.
- Much of the honour for that is due to our common musical friend Bernt Runt Stray. I was riding with him a few months ago as he was playing a demo with Aleksander. I got to be positively surprised.

Major upgrade of Historic Lene section
(Notice by Tef Johs, January 21, 2010)
It's a pleasure for the editor to introduce Historic Lene Period 7 and Period 8.
The new Period 7, "Lene Working With Other Artists", completes the Era 3 section. The Era 3 section stores contemporary newspaper articles giving an account of Lene's history through her "Lost In A Moment" release (2005) and the two years following this event.
The new Period 8, "The Road To Twist The Truth", introduces the history of Lene in what's been defined as Era 4, "The Release Of Twist The Truth".

'Worth It': Pleasant Until The Effaceable |
|

The official promotion video for Lene and Alexander With's joint single, "Worth It", is just around the corner. The video was recorded on December 12 - 13, and while we are waiting we should in a timely manner be reminded that not everyone likes the song, just as this review by Dagbladet is an example of.

Pleasant until the effaceable
(Published by Dagbladet, October 21, 2009)
Idol-winner back from the ruthless oblivion with aid from Lene Marlin.
SONG: Kurt Nilsen and Venke Knutson once did a nice, tidy, tweely coziness-and-hugz version of Ryan Adams' "When The Stars Go Blue", which was health-threatingly anaemic and intolerable unimaginative. And therefore something of a low point when it comes to synergy- and career planning within the Norwegian pop duet special field.
