Lene's Fortune Increased In 2007 Print E-mail

The following article tells about Lene's current standing financially following the publication of the 2007 tax rolls this week. We previously published an article about this topic, where the data were based on the annual report of Lene's company, Mellowmoment, Inc.

Lene Marlin had a good year in 2007.


In 2005, the girl from Kroken released the album "Lost In A Moment". The same year, she could register a fortune of 11 million NOK. However, in 2006, it went a bit downhill for Lene Marlin.

 

The fortune shrunk to about 8.6 million NOK, despite that Finansavisen could report that she had gathered 3.4 million NOK gross value on radio-playing through her company, Mellowmoment.


In 2007, the arrow has been pointing upward for Marlin. According to the tax rolls, the artist now has a fortune of 14.2 million NOK. Lene Marlin has a registered income of 261.941 NOK last year, and had to pay taxes to the amount of 208.553 NOK.

There are six  highly interesting articles added to Period 2 of the Historic Lene section. Learn more about Lene getting famous in Sweden, her graduation in Tromsø in May 1999, the breakthrough in France in the fall, and her full promotion schedule with exact dates in the summer of '99.

 

Articles are spanning a time interval April - October, 1999. Lene's breakthrough in Sweden was in early April, and this was never an obvious task for a Norwegian artist:

Lene Marlin has learned a lesson, and become more ego. Next weekend she will be playing her first concert in Norway in three years.


- I have learned to put away the guilty conscience. When I realized that I didn't need to give of myself absolutely all the time, everything got so much better. I've become much better at thinking of myself. It's a good feeling having figured that out, says Lene Marlin.


On Saturday, August 25th, Lene Marlin will be playing her own music on a Norwegian stage for the first time in three years. The choice fell naturally enough on the home town of Tromsø and the Døgnvill Festival.

There are six freshly translated articles added to Period 1 - Lene's early days - of the Historic Lene section. A tracking box has been added for the latest additions to the Historic articles.

 

There is much to learn from the very early articles about Lene by the national newspapers VG and Dagbladet, from September 1998 - March 1999. The newly added articles contain many highlights from how it all started for Lene - and how the Norwegian press, her producers, and the general audience were regarding her. And how she was regarding herself, a bit on the pessimistic side - as we were about to know Lene. 

 

Dagbladet claims to have the published the very first article about Lene in the national Norwegian press, with the very first article appearing in the newspaper on July 11, 1998. This was a whole three months before the single "Unforgivable Sinner" was even released to stores, and well over a month before it was aired on NRK radio for the first time.

Fund for Performing Artists 50 years - a lot of awards

The Fund for Performing Artists celebrated a 50-year anniversary with awards for ten artists and a gala performance at Fabrikken on Grünerløkka, on Monday, November 5th.


In 2007, there will be 50 years since the first board of the Fund for Performing Artists (FPA) was appointed, and the service was established.


The Chairman of the Fund, Lene Hansen, was awarding this year's Rolf Gammleng prizes.

Lene Marlin's song contribution to the Def Jam artist Rihanna has given a good taste.

 

While the solo artist Lene Marlin is held on ice, she is this summer in the public's interest with two contributions on other artists' albums. This week, Def Jam Record's R&B commitment Rihanna came with the album "Good Girl Gone Bad", where three songs are produced by Norwegian Stargate, and the title track is signed by Lene Marlin.

 

The 26-year-old is feeling good about writing and singing for others, while the solo career is in a quiet mood.

 

- I love writing songs for others, and this gives just as much even though I'm not writing for myself, says Lene Marlin, who reveals that there most probably will be more Marlin songs performed by others in the time ahead.
