New song from Lene's hand available
(Notice by Tef Johs, March 9, 2010)
The release of Aleksander With's new album brings with it another beautiful Lene Marlin tune.
Yesterday, With's new album, "Still Awake", was released, featuring the second song written by Lene to be included on this record, entitled "It's About Time".
Today, Lene even updated her MySpace blog to inform everybody, as it wasn't clear in advance which of the other songs on the album was written by her. The song turns out to be quite the beautiful tune.
The song
After having downloaded the song, it does indeed say "Lene Marlin" under "Composer" in the "Info" tab. Over at lene.it and at Aleksander's own homepage they have already published the lyrics for the new Lene song. After a few listenings, "It's About Time" does have all the characteristic features of a Lene Marlin song.
The lyrics are somewhat typical Lene from the later years, and the melody is very catchy, with Aleksander With doing his best to live up to the level of excellence that Lene has put forward for him. This is unmistakeable Lene Marlin quality anno 2010. There's even a smaller "after-game" to the song before it finally closes.
A job very well done, Lene!
Lene's blog
This is what Lene had to say on her MySpace blog earlier today:
Hope 2010 has turned out to be a good year so far :-) I've "disappeared" into songwriting, so most of my time is spent in the studio. One of the songs I've written lately is called "It's About Time". It's out now!
Go check out Aleksander With and his new album "Still Awake"! Just bought it myself on iTunes :-)
I don't know about you, but I'm waiting for the snow to melt, the sun to shine and the beautiful spring to arrive :-)
Interesting news, indeed. We can only wonder what Lene is planning to do with the songs she's working on in the studio right now.
Extract from the lyrics for "It's About Time" (L. Marlin)
You didn't hear him scream No one to open the door No one to let him inside Don't say that you've tried
You know that's a lie You didn't hear her call No one to answer the phone No one to make her come home
